These data exports, or CDFs, contain two types of growth data:
- Growth summary data: Actual observed growth between 2 testing terms
- Growth projection data: Typical growth between 2 terms, based on the student’s MAP score in the first term of the pair
Growth summary data
The available fields with growth summary data are:
- Term to Term Projected Growth
- Term to Term Observed Growth
- Term to Term Observed Growth SE
- Term to Term Met Projected Growth
- Term to Term Conditional Growth Index
- Term to Term Conditional Growth Percentile
- Term to Term Growth Quintile
For example, one column would be Fall to Winter Projected Growth.
Which term pairs have data populated in the growth summary fields?
Data is populated based on the end term in the term pair. For example, if you order a CDF for the winter term, you will get growth summary data for term pairs that end in winter. In this case, that would be fall to winter, and winter to winter. Winter to spring would not be available and those fields would be empty. To view winter to spring growth projections, you would check the growth projection fields, which are described in the growth projection fields section below.
Since this is showing actual growth, students must have valid growth tests in both comparison terms. If you are just looking for growth projections, see the growth projection fields section below.
Where are these fields located?
The growth summary data is located in the following columns:
- Comprehensive Data File > AssessmentResults.csv: Columns AD through BS
- Combined Data File > ComboStudentAccessment.csv: Columns AK through BZ
Growth projection fields
The available fields with growth projection data are named:
- Typical Term to Term Growth
For example, one column would be Typical Fall to Winter Growth.
Which term pairs have data populated in the growth summary fields?
Data is populated based on the first term of the term pair. For example, if you order a CDF for the winter term, you will get growth projection data for the term pairs that start in winter. In this case, that would be winter to winter, and winter to spring growth. Fall to winter would not be available.
Since this is a projection, students only need a valid growth test for the first term, that is, the term for which you ordered the CDF.
Where are these fields located?
The growth projection data is located in the following columns:
- Comprehensive Data File > AssessmentResults.csv: Columns DN through DS
- Combined Data File > ComboStudentAccessment.csv: Columns DW through EB
