MAP Reading Fluency differs from MAP Growth in the use of term dates for testing.
At the beginning of a new MAP Reading Fluency test term date, new content will be published and the performance expectations will rise. For the word count per minute (wcpm) for each test term, see the
Interpretive Tables page in the MAP Help Center.
MAP Reading Fluency has the following fixed test term dates:
- Fall: June*- November 30th
- Winter: December 1st - February 28th (Feb. 29th on Leap Years)
- Spring: March 1st - June*
- Summer: There is no summer term For MAP Reading Fluency. The spring term extends until the beginning of the fall term.
*Note that the June term changeover date will vary each year with the specific date coinciding with the June software release for MAP Reading Fluency, typically scheduled for mid-June.
Note: The dates above do not apply to rostering. Rosters are still based on the MAP Growth terms.
