Symptom When trying to access the testing website, you get an error: "This student's grade is required to use the Secure Testing Browser".

Explanation

This error occurs when your organization requires that testing be done in a secure browser, i.e., the NWEA Secure Testing Browser (also known as Lockdown Browser), and you are accessing the testing site in a different browser such as Chrome or Edge. This is the default behavior.

Solution

Download and install the NWEA Secure Testing Browser on each workstation from the MAP Administration and Reporting Center.

If you use third party software that is incompatible with the NWEA Secure Testing Browser, such as JAWS, and you receive this error, please have your System Administrator contact your NWEA Account Manager for assistance.
