Information
How is projected proficiency determined for states with no linking study?
Some states, as well as international schools, do not have linking studies. To see if your state has a linking study available:
  1. Go to NWEA.org.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select Solutions > States.
  3. Select your location from the menu and click Go to go to your state information page.
  4. If available, linking studies are listed towards the bottom of this page, in the Linking Studies section.

For states without linking studies and for international schools, we use the following proficiency categories:
  • Below standards: 1st - 39th percentile
  • Proficient: 40th - 69th percentile
  • Advanced: 70th -99th percentile

Percentiles are based on the NWEA Norms Study.

If your state does have a linking study, but not for all grades or subjects, then proficiency data will not be available for those grades and subjects.
