How do I assign, change, or remove an accommodation (including text-to-speech)?

Before modifying accommodations:

If you are working with an active test session, you can only assign, modify, or remove accommodations if the student's status is Awaiting Student. If the student's status is anything other than Awaiting Student, take the following steps based on the student's current status.

Check the student's current status:
  • Awaiting Student: You can assign accommodations to the student now. Skip down to the steps to assign the accommodation.
  • Testing or Paused:
    1. Either Suspend or Terminate the test. Read below for more information on these 2 options:
      • A suspended test can be resumed, and the student will not lose any progress. However, the accommodation will not appear on reports such as the data exports. Also, if the student was testing without the accommodation available (such as text-to-speech), the test may not reflect their true ability.
      • A terminated test cannot be resumed, and any progress the student has made will be discarded. Additionally, if your organization restricts tests to once per term, you may need to contact your testing coordinator to allow the student to test again. However, terminating the test ensures that the accommodation is accurately recorded in your data, and that the student's entire test has the correct accommodations available.
    2. Select the student and choose Test Again from the Select Action menu.
  • Suspended or Terminated: Select the student and choose Test Again from the Select Action menu.
  • Confirmed or To Be Confirmed: Select the student and choose Do Not Confirm from the Select Action menu.
